	Across Grant Avenue from the Sing Chong building is old St Mary’s Church.  In the days before the 1906 earthquake, it overlooked several brothels, which explains the cryptic message on the clocktower: "SON, OBSERVE THE TIME AND FLY FROM EVIL"
