| FLEISHHACKER SWIMMING POOL It was billed as the world’s largest swimming pool when it opened in 1925, so mammoth that the lifeguards patrolled in rowboats. But San Francisco (especially right by the Pacific) makes for chilly swimming weather. Long story short: Bulldozers filled in the pool during the 1970s. |
