WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE

Or at least to the west, the north and the east.  To the south is the unexplored wilderness of San Mateo County.

OCEAN BEACH

So called, I assume, because it’s right on the Pacific Ocean.  The weather can change in a big hurry; these two photos were taken within minutes of each other!

THE CLIFF HOUSE

Three different buildings have occupied the same location since the late 19th century.

BAKER BEACH

It was kind of chilly the day I took this photo, and therefore no nude sunbathers were on hand.  My apologies.

CONTAINER SHIPS

Passing under the Golden Gate Bridge, on their way to the Port of Oakland.

THE MARINA DISTRICT

One-time location of the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition.

MUNICIPAL PIER

Battered by decades of salt water, it’s still a great place for “watchin’ the tide roll in.”

WINDSURFING ON THE BAY

Wheeeeee!!

GHIRARDELLI SQUARE

Chocolate and shopping.  And shopping for chocolate.

FISHERMAN’S WHARF

Fishing boats and really expensive seafood restaurants.

THE 100 BLOCK OF JEFFERSON STREET

Enough to make a tourist’s mouth water.

CORNER OF JEFFERSON & JONES

Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.

THE MUSEE MECANIQUE

For a small fee, Laughing Sal will laugh at you!

THE SUBMARINE PAMPANITO

Show a little respect, you guys!

ALCATRAZ

The Rock!  Need I say more?

PIER 39

Sea Lions, shopping, restaurants, entertainers and a merry-go-round.

PIER 7

Beautiful views from either direction.

AT&T PARK

Home of the two-time World Champion San Francisco Giants!
